Two arrested for blast, attack on U.P. Minister

The Uttar Pradesh police on Thursday claimed they arrested two persons at Naini on Wednesday night in connection with the Allahabad bomb blast on July 12 in which Institutional Finance Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi was seriously injured.
Additional Director-General of Police (Law and order) Brij Lal told journalists that the arrested were Kripa Shankar Pandey and Rajesh Yadav.
The attack — in which seven persons were injured of whom one Rakesh Malviya died of his injuries — was said to have been carried out by Rajesh Pilot alias Rajesh Tiwari and an unknown person.
The two were absconding. Seven persons were named as accused in the case.
Mr. Lal said Pilot was a sharp-shooter.
